Arctic Westies is Tromsø's dedicated West Coast Swing club. We bring together dancers of all levels — complete beginners to seasoned pros — in a welcoming, inclusive environment where the only requirement is enthusiasm.
We run regular weekly classes, social dances, and participate in national and international WCS events. Whether you want to learn, improve, or just dance for fun, you're in the right place.
West Coast Swing is a partner dance rooted in American swing tradition. It's improvisational, musical, and endlessly adaptable — danced to everything from blues and pop to hip-hop and country. No two dances are ever the same.
WCS works with almost any contemporary music — from slow blues to uptempo pop. The dance follows the song, not the other way around.
Built on lead-follow communication, WCS teaches you to listen, respond, and create a conversation through movement.
You don't need a partner or prior experience. Our beginner series takes you from zero to the social floor in just a few sessions.
Once you know the basics, WCS becomes a creative conversation — every dance a unique, in-the-moment expression.
